3. Find the area and perimeter of a rectangle whose length is 14 m and breadth is 12m using the formula.

4. Find the length of a side of a square whose perimeter is 36 cm.

5. Find the area of a square tile if its side is 12 cm.

6. A rectangular field is 36m long and 32m broad. Find the cost of leveling the field at the rate of Rs 8 per square meter.

7. Find the length of a rectangular garden of area 330 square meter, if its breadth is 15 m?

8. Find the cost of fencing a rectangular garden of length 50 m and breadth 35m at the rate of Rs 12 per meter.

9. Find the perimeter of a square whose area is 49 square meter.

10. Manu walks around a square park whose side is 60 m. One day he walks around the park three times. How much did he walk in all?

Answers:

1. Area of a square = side x side
Given side = 22m

Area = 22 x 22 = 484 square meter

2. Area of a rectangle = length x breadth
Given length = 12m and breadth = 9m
Area = 12 x 9 = 108 square meter

3. Given length = 14m and breadth = 12m
Area = length x breadth = 14 x 12 = 168 square meter.
Perimeter = 2 (l + b) = 2 (14 + 12) = 2 x 26 = 52 m

4. Given perimeter of a square = 36 cm
Length of one side = 36 / 4 = 9 cm

5. Length of one side = 12 cm
Area of a square = side x side = 12 x 12 = 144 square cm

6. Given length = 36m and breadth = 32m
Area = length x breadth = 36 x 32 = 1152 square meter
Cost of leveling at the rate of Rs 8 per square meter = 1152 x 8 = Rs 9216

7. Given area of a rectangle = 330 square meter
Breadth = 15m
Length = Area / breadth = 330 / 15 = 22 m

8. Given length = 50m and breadth = 35 m
Perimeter = 2 (length + breadth)
= 2 (50 + 35)
= 2 x 85
= 170 m
Cost of fencing at the rate of Rs 12 per meter = 170 x 12 = Rs 2040.

9. Given area of a square = 49 square meter
Therefore length of one side = 7 m
Perimeter = 4 x side = 4 x 7 = 28m

10. Length of one side of a square = 60m
Perimeter = 4 x side = 4 x 60 = 240 m
If he walks three times, perimeter = 3 x 240 = 720 m
