Answer the following: - Three angles of a quadrilateral are 38, 64 and 135 degrees. Find the measure of the fourth angle?
- 28% of 25 students are liked to play cricket. How many are liked to play cricket?
- Find the area of a rhombus whose diagonals are of lengths 10 cm and 12.4 cm?
- Solve 4x – 7 = 2(x – 2) + 7
- Find and correct the errors in the mathematical statement 2(x – 7) = 2x – 7
ANSWERS:
- 5
- Square/Rhombus
- 6
- 0
- 3.375 cubic metre
- The sum of the measures of the four angles of a quadrilateral is 360 degree.
Given measures are 38, 64 and 135 degrees.
The measure of fourth angle is 123 degree - Number of students liked to play cricket = 28% of 25
= 28 x 25/100
= 28/4 = 7 students - Area of a Rhombus = Half of the product of its diagonals.
Diagonals are given by 10 cm and 12.4 cm
Therefore, area = ½ (10 x 12.4) = ½ x 124 = 62 square cm - 4x – 7 = 2 (x – 2) + 7
4x – 7 = 2x – 4 + 7
4x – 2x = -4 + 7 + 7
2x = 10
x = 10/2 = 5 - 2(x – 7) = 2x – 14 is correct. We need to multiply two terms with in the bracket by 2.
