10. Evaluate:
a) (-2/3) x (-1/3)
b) (3/24) – (7/36)
ANSWERS:
1. -20/30
2. Binomial
3. 9.03
4. 8:1
5. -5
6. Number of children liked to play football = 25% of 40 = 10 children
7. Given length = 400m and breadth = 250m
Area of a rectangle = length x breadth = 400 x 250 = 100000 square metre
8. 20ab + 10b+10a –(12ab -5b-9a) = 20ab +10b+10a – 12ab + 5b + 9a = 8ab + 15b +19a
9. CP = 23500
SP = 21150
Since CP> SP, there is a loss of 23500 – 21150 = 2350 rupees
Loss% = (loss/CP) X 100 = (2350/23500) X 100 = 10%
10. a) (-2/3) x (-1/3) = 2/9
b) 3/24 – 7/36 = (9 – 14)/72 = -5/72.
