9. The circumference of a circle is 62.8 cm. Find the radius of the circle?
(Take pi = 3.14)

10. The perimeter of a rectangle is 140 cm. If the breadth of the rectangle is 40 cm, find its length. Also find the area of the rectangle?

ANSWERS:

1. Area of a square = Side x Side
Perimeter = 360 m (given)
One side of the square = 360/4 = 90 m.
Therefore, Area = 90 x 90 = 8100 square meter.

2. Perimeter of a rectangular sheet = 120 cm (given)

Length = 25 cm (given)
2l = 2 x 25 = 50
But perimeter = 2l + 2b
120 = 50 + 2b
2b = 120 – 50 = 70
b = 70 /2 = 35
Therefore, breadth = 35 cm
Area = l x b = 25 x 35 = 875 square cm.

3. Area = 330 square m (given)

Length l = 11m
Area of a rectangle = l x b
330 = 11 x b
b = 330/11 = 30 m
Perimeter = 2l + 2b
= 2 x 11 + 2 x 30
= 22 + 60
= 82 m

4. Length I = 250 m

Breadth b = 200 m
Area of rectangle = l x b = 250 x 200 = 50000 square m.

5. Area of a parallelogram = 36 square cm.
Breadth b = 9 cm
Area = Base x Height
36 = 9 x height
Height = 36/9 = 4 cm

6. Circumference of a circle = Pi x d
Here d = 14 cm
Therefore, C = 3.14 X 14 = 43.96 cm

7. Area of a triangle = ½ bh
Given, base = 14 cm & height = 20 cm
Area = ½ x 14 x 20 = 140 square cm.

8. Given, base = 12 cm

Area = 672 square cm (given)
Area = 1/2 x Base x Altitude
672 = 1/2 (12 x Altitude)
Altitude = (2 x 672)  / 12 = 112 cm

9. Circumference of the circle = 62.8 cm

C = 2 x pi x radius
62.8 = 2 x 3.14 x r
62.8 = 6.28r
r = 62.8 /6.28 = 10 cm

10. Perimeter of a rectangle = 140 cm
Breadth = 40 cm
Perimeter = 2l + 2b
140 = 2l + 2 x 40
140 = 2l + 80
2l = 140 – 80 = 60
Length l = 60/2 = 30 cm
Area = length x breadth
= 30 x 40
= 1200 square cm
