4. Covert to fraction:

5. Simplify:

a) 10.43 + 4.6 – 4.254

6. Express as km using decimals:

b) 60 km 5m

7. Sanu bought 3 kg 90 g of apples, 3kg 60 g of grapes and 2 kg 250g oranges. Find the total weight of the fruits he bought?

8. Deepak walked 8.65 km in the morning and 7.08 km in the evening. How much distance did he walk in one day?

9. Write each of the following as decimals:

a) 40 + 5 + 4/1000
b) 700 + 5+ 2/100

10. Write each of the following as a decimal:

a) Four hundred six and five-hundredths
b) Two hundred seven and four – hundredths

ANSWERS:

1. a) 0.06 + 6.5 = 6.56

b) 9.61 + 0.32 = 9.93
c) 32.076 + 0. 064 = 32.140

2. Total weight of vegetables = 10 kg

Weight of onions = 3 kg 250g = 3.250 kg
Weight of carrots = 1 kg 750 g = 1.750 kg
Total weight of onion and carrot = 3.250 + 1.750 = 5 kg
Weight of cabbages = 10 -5 = 5kg

3. a) 5.071, 5.107, 5.710, 5.760
b) 4.532, 5.324, 45.32, 54.32

4. a) 5.2 = 52/10
b) 0.64 = 64/100

5. a) 10.43 + 4.6 = 15.03
15.030 – 4.254 = 10.776

b) 8.45 + 3.20 = 11.65
11.650 – 4.324 = 7.326

6. a) 5m = 0.005 km
b) 60 km 5m = 60.005km

7. Weight of apples = 3 kg 90g =3.090 kg

Weight of grapes = 3 kg 60g = 3.060 kg
Weight of oranges = 2 kg 250 g = 2.250 kg
Total weight of fruits = 3.090 + 3.060 + 2.250 = 8.400 kg

8. Distance travelled in the morning = 8.65 km

Distance travelled in the evening = 7.08 km
Total distance travelled = 8.65 + 7.08 = 15.73 km
