9. Manu gave 3/8 part of a cake to his sister and 2/8 part to his friend. How much part is remaining?

ANSWERS:
1. One day = 24 hours
1/4 Part of a day is 6 hours.
2. 3/5- 7/25=
Like fraction of 3/5 is 3/5×5/5=15/25
3/5 – 7/25 = 15/25-7/25=8/25
3. First convert to like fractions
2/5 = 2/5×4/4=8/20
6/10 = 6/10×2/2 = 12/20
Descending order is12/20,8/20,4/20.
i.e. 6/( 10) ,2/5, 4/20
4. Distance jogged in the morning = 3/5 km
Distance jogged in the evening = 2/15 km
Total distance jogged in one day = 3/5+ 2/15 = 9/15 + 2/15 = 11/15 km
5. a) 4/5 ×5/5=20/25
b) 15/35÷5/5=3/7
6. One hour = 60 minutes
1/3 part of an hour is 20 minutes.
7. The natural numbers from 2 to 15 are 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15
Prime numbers are 2, 3,5,7,11,13
Fraction is6/( 14).
8. a) 1 – 3/5 = 5/5 – 3/5 = 2/5
b) 3 – 9/5 = 15/5 – 9/(5 ) = 6/5
9. Part of cake given to his sister = 3/8
Part of cake given to his friend = 2/8
Total parts = 3/8+2/8= 5/8
Remaining part = 8/8-5/8=3/8
10. a) 1/2 > 1/5
b) 3/5<2/3
