Answer the following:

6. What fraction of a day is 4 hours?

7. Write the natural numbers from 1 to 20. What fraction of them are prime numbers?

8. Find five equivalent fractions of 5/9?

9. Find the equivalent fraction of 12/36 with denominator 9?

10. My mother divided an apple into 4 equal parts. She gave me two parts and my brother one part. How much apple did she give both of us together?

ANSWERS:

1. ¾

2. 7/5

3. 5/8

4. 2/8

6. 24 hours are there in a day.

4 hours is 4/24 = 1/6 part of a day.

7. Prime numbers between 1 and 20 are 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17and 19.

There are 8 prime numbers between 1 and 20.

So the fraction is 8/20 = 4/10 = 2/5.

8. Equivalent fractions of 5/9 are 5/9, 10/18, 15/27, 20/36, 25/45.

9. The equivalent fraction of 12/36 with denominator 9 is 3/9.

10. Apple given to both = 2/4 + ¼ = ¾ part.
