ANSWERS:

  1. Length = 42cm
    Breadth = 34cm
    Perimeter = 2 x (l + b) = 2 x (42 + 34) = 2 x 76 = 152cm
  2. Length = 0.9km
    Breadth = 0.7km
    Perimeter = 2 x (l + b) = 2 x (0.9 + 0.7) = 2 x 1.6 = 3.2 km
    Length of the wire needed for 4 rows = 3.2 x 4 = 12.8km
  3. Perimeter = 3 x length of one side = 3 x 7 = 21 cm
  4. Perimeter = 9 + 9 + 5 = 23cm
  5. Given perimeter = 50cm
    Length of each side = 50/5 = 10cm
  6. Perimeter = 12 + 10 + 8 = 30cm
  7. Perimeter = 6 x side = 6 x 7 = 42m
  8. Side of a square = 40/4 = 10cm
  9. Perimeter = 4 x side = 4 x 150 = 600m
    Cost of fencing = 600 x 25 = 15000 rupees
  10. Length = 150m
    Breadth = 125m
    Perimeter = 2 x (l + b) = 2 x (150 + 125) = 2 x 275 = 550m
    Cost of fencing = 550 x 15 = 8250 rupees
  11. Area = l x b = 7 x 4 = 28 sq.cm
  12. Area = side x side = 12 x 12 = 144 sq.cm
  13. Length = 40m
    Area = 360m
    Width = Area/length = 360/40 = 9m
  14. Length = 5m
    Breadth = 3m 50cm = 3.50m
    Area = l x b = 5 x 3.50 = 17.5 sq. meter
  15. Length = 27cm
    Breadth = 1/3 of 27 = 9cm
    Area = l x b = 27 x 9 = 243 sq. meter
