ANSWERS:
- a) Earning in one day = Rs 30
Earning in 10 days = 30 x 10 = 300 rupees.
b) We can take number of days in one month = 30
Earning in one month = 30 x 30 = 900 rupees. - Amount paid back by Hariya in every month = Rs 51
Money paid by Hariya for six months = 51 x 6 = Rs 306
Amount paid by Babu after 6 months = Rs 360
Hence Babu pays more money than Hariya. - a) Earning from one rickshaw = Rs 20
Earning from 9 rickshaws = 20 x 9 = 180 rupees.
b) Money earned from one rickshaw = Rs 20
We know that there are 7 days in a week.
Earnings in one week = 20 x 7 = 140 rupees. - 2 x 6 = 12
20 x 6 = 120
2 x 60 = 120
3 x 42 = 126
4 x 80 = 320
4 x 81 = 324
9 x 25 = 225
31 x 9 = 279 - a) Cost of 1 kg newspaper = Rs 5
Cost of 31 kg newspaper = 5 x 31 = Rs 155.
b) Cost of 42 kg newspaper = 5 x 42 = Rs 210. - a) Cost of 1 kg plastic = Rs 10
Cost of 22 kg plastic = 22 x 10 = 220 rupees.
b) Cost of 1 kg wastepaper = Rs 4
Cost of 23 kg of wastepaper = 23 x 4 = 92 rupees.
c) Cost of 1 kg iron = Rs 12
Cost of 12 kg of iron = 12 x 12 = 144 rupees. - a) Cost of 1 kg plastic = Rs 10
Selling price of plastic = Rs 12
Her earnings = 12 – 10 = 2 rupees.
b) Earning from 1 kg plastic = Rs 2
Earning for 63 kg of plastic = 63 x 2 = 126 rupees. - Earning by selling 1 kg of iron = 14 – 12 = 2 rupees
Earning by selling 32 kg of iron = 32 x 2 = 64 rupees. - Money earned by selling 1 kg newspaper = 6 – 5 = 1 rupees.
Money earned by selling 152 kg of newspaper = 152 x 1 = 152 rupees. - Cost of 1 kg of brass = Rs 180
Cost of 4 kg of brass = 180 x 4 = Rs 720.
